Chartiers Township Clean Up Day will be held on Saturday, May 16th 

The following items WILL NOT be picked up, so please don't place them out:

1. auto tires

2. automobile parts

3. dirt, bricks, stones and concrete

4. refrigerators, air-conditions units and appliances which have not been certified for removal of chlorofluorocarbons.

5. cans exceeding in 40 lbs.

6. carpet not cut-(must be bundled and tied in 4’ lengths)

7. paint-liquid

8. E-Waste material

It is the responsibility of the property owner to maintain unobstructed, safe access to refuse being collected. Remember they arrive early so have your items to the curb the night before.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has scheduled a Public Plans Display for the upcoming project for improvements at the SR 1009  (Pike Street) SR 4049 (Country Club Road) intersection in the Township.  This display will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Chartiers Township Municipal Building located at 2 Buccaneer Drive, Houston Pennsylvania.  The meeting will be held in an open house format which will allow you to attend at a time that is convenient for you.  .  The project involves the widening of S.R. 1009 (Pike Street) and S.R. 4049 (Country Club Road) to both provide turning lanes and improve the turning radius for trucks utilizing the intersection.  The project will also replace both the existing traffic signal and the at grade railroad crossing that exists within the intersection.       The project is tentatively scheduled for bid opening in June of this year.  Although some initial work involving drainage, utility relocation, building demolition and replacement of the railroad crossing will occur this year, the majority of construction is anticipated to occur next year with all work anticipated to be completed by mid-July 2015.

The Chartiers Township Board of Supervisors will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. at the Chartiers Township Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall 2450 West Pike Street Houston, PA 15342.  The purpose of this meeting is to present information and a status update on the Allison Hollow Road Improvement Project, which is ready to commence construction.  We are inviting residents and property owners of the area to the meeting to hear a project overview and provide answers to specific question residents may have. The Project Engineer and Contractor will be present to answer project related questions.

            We will have information at that meeting regarding project and construction schedule, including project maps.  We urge all property owners and residents in the area to attend this informational meeting.  If you have questions or need more information, please don’t hesitate to contact the Township Office at 724-745-3415
