Public Safety Day

Bark in the Park

Please join Chartiers Township Recreation Board for Bark in the Park this Saturday, September 14th at the Allison Pavilion.

Free registration begins at 9:30.

The Dog Walk starts at 10:00.  A Fun Doggie Agility Course will be run by Angel Ridge starting at 10:30.  Judging for the Best Trick contest will begin at 11:00.

Prizes will be awarded in different categories.

Thursday, April 25th from 4:00pm – 7:00 pm at Canton Township Municipal Building, 655 Grove Ave, Washington PA 15301 where Commonwealth Computer Recycling will be providing free computer & electronics recycling for all Pennsylvania residents and small businesses under 50 employees.

As a DEP permitted recycling facility and R2 certified Responsible Recycler, you can be confident that CCR will recycle your computers and electronics in an environmentally sound way.

Concerned about your data? Watch us remove and destroy your hard drive for only $10.

 The following items will be accepted at this event:

  • Desktop, laptops, tablets, servers, hard drives
  • Cell phones, Ipods, MP3 players, etc
  • Consumer electronics including VCR, DVD players, wire, x-mas lights, cable boxes, radios
  • Computer Peripherals include keyboards, mice, printers (< 50lbs), power supplies, motherboards / circuit Boards, cables, CD, DVD, tape &, floppy Drives, UPS batteries & backup systems, power supplies, memory, hard drives (on-site destruction is available), computer fans, routers, switches, wireless routers, access points, bridges, firewalls, cabling, modems, KVM switches
  • Phones, phone systems, ink, toner, AC adapters, projectors, overhead displays, VCR, DVD Players, Typewriters
  • In an effort to maximize our recycling efforts televisions will not be accepted at this event. LCD and Plasma TV's are OK.

Prescription Drug Take Back Day

As part of the National Take Back Initiative the Chartiers Township Police Department will hold a collection for residents to drop off their unused or expired prescription drugs so they can properly be disposed of. This event reduces the risk of prescription drug diversion and abuse as well as traces of prescription drugs ending up in the public sewer system from being flushed down the toilet or rinsed down the sink.

  3. dirt,bricks, stones and concrete
  4. refrigerators, air-conditions units and appliances which have not been certified for removal of chlorofluorocarbons.
  5. cans exceeding in 40 lbs.
  6. carpet not cut-(must be bundled and tied in 4’ lengths)
  7. paint-liquid
  8. E-Waste material

It is the responsibility of the property owner to maintain unobstructed, safe access to refuse being collected.
